Privacy Policy

SideEyeMath ("we," "us") is a set of free calculators published at sideeyemath.com, not a data business. You don't create an account. The numbers you type into our tools are processed entirely in your browser — they are never transmitted to us, stored by us, or seen by us. What we do collect is listed below, in full, because a site about reading the fine print should have fine print worth reading.

Collected automatically. When you visit, we and our service providers process: your IP address, browser and device type, operating system, the pages you view, approximate region (city/state level), referring page, and cookie identifiers — through the two channels described in the next sections (web analytics and hosting logs).

Provided by you. If you email us, we receive what you send, including your email address and anything in the message. We use it to reply and to fix what you reported. We do not add you to any mailing list — we don't have one.

Never collected. The figures you enter into any calculator — prices, loan balances, payments, trade-ins — stay in your browser. No account, no profile, no financial data.

We use Google Analytics 4 to understand which pages and calculators actually get used. It sets first-party cookies (with names like _ga) and collects the usage data described above, which Google processes on our behalf; Google explains its side in How Google uses information from sites that use its services.

Advertising and personalization features are disabled — analytics data is not used to build ad profiles or shared for advertising. Data retention is set to 14 months, the shortest practical setting. The analytics identifier is a random browser ID, not connected to your name or email (we have neither). And the numbers you type into calculators are never part of what's measured.

To block Google Analytics everywhere, including here, Google offers a browser opt-out add-on.

California law asks websites to disclose how they respond to Do Not Track signals. Most sites disclose that they ignore them. We honor them: if your browser sends Do Not Track or Global Privacy Control, analytics is switched off entirely for your visit — no analytics cookies, no measurement. GPC also functions as a valid opt-out of "sale" and "sharing" under California law; in our case there is nothing to opt out of, because we do not sell or share personal information in the first place.

The EU, UK, and Switzerland require opt-in consent for analytics cookies. Rather than show you a cookie banner, we collect nothing: our analytics is configured so that visits from those jurisdictions set no analytics cookies and store no analytics data at all. This site is written for U.S. car buyers and homeowners and is not directed to the European market.

Some links on this site are or may become affiliate links, and they are labeled ("Sponsored"). If you click one, the affiliate network or advertiser may set cookies in your browser to attribute any resulting transaction, under their own privacy policies. We may earn a commission from those transactions. We do not receive your personal or financial details from them — we see aggregate statistics, not you.

The complete list of third parties that process visitor data for us: Google (analytics, as configured above) and Cloudflare, which serves the site and processes technical request data (such as IP address and browser type) to deliver pages and protect against abuse, under its own privacy policy — logs that exist to keep the site fast and secure, not to profile you. Affiliate networks receive nothing from us; their cookies come into play only if you click their links. We do not sell personal information, we do not share it for cross-context behavioral advertising, and we do not hand it to data brokers. We would disclose information if a law we're subject to genuinely required it — that has never happened.

We operate from the United States and our service providers process data in the U.S. (and their own global infrastructure). If you visit from elsewhere, you're welcome — see the regional rules above for what that means in practice: mostly, that we're not measuring you at all.

Analytics data: 14 months, then deleted automatically. Email correspondence: for as long as it's useful for the conversation you started, after which it's ordinary old email. Calculator inputs: never held, so never deleted — there is nothing to delete.

The site is served over HTTPS, and we follow reasonable practices to protect the little we hold. No website can promise perfect security — anyone who does deserves your side-eye — but our best protection is structural: we can't lose what we never collected.

Depending on where you live, you may have the right to know what personal information an operator holds about you, and to access, correct, or delete it. Because we hold almost none, the practical scope is usually your email correspondence with us and the pseudonymous analytics described above. Write to the address below and we will honor applicable requests within 45 days, and we will never treat you differently for asking.

California residents: in the last 12 months we have collected only the categories listed in "What we collect" (identifiers such as IP address and cookie IDs; internet activity such as pages viewed; approximate location; and anything you email us), used them only for the purposes described here, and sold or shared none of them. Global Privacy Control is honored as an opt-out signal. We do not disclose personal information to third parties for their own direct marketing.

This site is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from them. If you believe a child has sent us personal information, email us and we will delete it.

If this policy changes, the effective date at the top changes with it. If a change is material — collecting something new, sharing with someone new — we will say so conspicuously on the site before the change takes effect.
